DIY Sephora OPI "As Good As Gold Collection" Polish

Hi Guys,

I was with my friend over the weekend shopping in the city at Sephora and came across the polish stand where there were hundreds of cute polishes.  I tried one on by Sephora OP called "As Good As Gold Collection" and I wanted to share with you today a DIY that will take about 5 minutes to complete!  Other than the fact that you do have to run to the store if you don't already have the materials.  You can make about 7-8 bottles for under $10!  This would be a great gift for bridesmaids, stocking stuffers (yes I am aware it is March), and just gifts in general.

My DIY bottle costs about $1.50 a bottle (I'm probably going to make more but if I didn't and calculated the entire cost of the glitter, it would come out to $3.50 a bottle - still not bad.  I'm probably going to buy more and make about 7-8 more bottles = under $10 for 7-8 bottles of polish!)

This is Sephora OPI's "As good As Gold" for $9.50 & can be purchased here http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?categoryId=A17&id=P305002# Photo Borrowed from www.sephora.com.  I would've purchased it but I wanted to attempt the DIY.

Materials Needed:

Top Coat/Clear Polish (Found @ Target for $1.14)
Hexagon Glitter (Found @ Michael's $1.29)
Glitter (Found @Michael's $1.29)
I used at 40% off coupon from Michael's too and got 33 cents off!
Fold a business card in half (or any piece of paper)

Directions:

Gather all your materials, then slowly pour the hexagon glitter onto the folded piece of paper (as far as quantity goes, just a little at a time.  Also, I found that the bottle being new and all was full so it made it difficult to shake up the glitter so you might want to discard a bit before mixing everything.

Slowly pour in, cap and then shake.

Continue pouring until you're satisfied with the amount of glitter in the polish and voila!

The clear polish does change into a gold/yellow color because the dyes in the glitter faded into it.  I used it as a clear polish on my nails without any other color and I think it turned out great!  I'll have to try it with some colors and update some photos.  Otherwise, I'm really pleased with the turnout!

Defnitely worth the DIY try!

Jen
